Muscle Stretching - QUADRICEPS

Stretch your quadriceps - Quadriceps stretching

It is important that muscles are stretch before and after exercise, especially if a specific muscle has been used during the performance of a particular movement.

For example, during running the quadriceps play a major part in the execution of the movement. Thus, this area should be stretched thoroughly prior and after the exercise.

Purpose

To increase the range of motion in the legs.

Muscles involved

The quads are located in the front of the upper legs.

Performance guidelines

• Stand tall next to a chair or wall (for balance).
• Bend one leg. Place it's foot near your bottom.
•Grasp it's ankle with your hand and pull up.
•Push your hips out and your leg back
•Hold for 20 - 30 seconds. Repeat 2 - 3 times.
•Remember to stretch both legs.
