Increasing the intensity of workouts
The following techniques should only be tried by people who have trained for 1 year or more!

Drop sets
Drop sets are used when you are unable to complete another lift with a given weight. Instead of resting, take weight off the bar and continue until again you are unable to lift. Repeat the rest.

Super sets
Exercising the same body part with two or more exercises back to back without rest.
|
Pre-exhaust sets
Pre-exhaust sets see you perform an isolation exercise (i.e. Leg extension, flyes) followed by a compound exercise (squat, press) straight after without rest.
|
Circuits
Circuit training allows you to train a body part and rest it whilst you exercise another area of the body. This style of workout dramatically cuts down on your training time.
